Doggy Day Out
Doggy Day Out is a volunteer program that gives shelter dogs the real-world exposure they need to become more adoptable, while offering volunteers a meaningful,
low-commitment way to make a difference.
Shelter Dog Enrichment Program
❋ Insight
The commitment of adoption turns a lot of people away, but the desire to spend time with a dog is nearly universal.
For dogs, time outside the kennel reduces stress and anxiety. While exposure to new environments, people, and routines builds the social confidence that makes a dog easier to connect with and far more likely to be adopted.
❋ Challenge
Shelter dogs spend the majority of their time in kennels, an environment that does little to prepare them for home life and even less to make them appealing to potential adopters.
Meanwhile, plenty of people who genuinely want a dog in their life can't make it work; rent restrictions, unpredictable schedules, and the financial reality of pet ownership put full-time adoption out of reach for a large portion of the population.

❋ Solution
Doggy Day Out is a branded volunteer program that lets anyone take a shelter dog out for the day, no adoption required.
The program is supported by a dedicated app and social ad campaign that keeps the brand cool and accessible, targeting college students and busy professionals who have the heart for it but not the lifestyle for full ownership.
